MTC Libraries
MTC Home
Mukhanyo Theological College (MTC) is an academic institution with a missional heart, where the growth of God’s kingdom is promoted by equipping pastors and other Christians in Africa.
MTC Libraries sketch
MTC’s complex of libraries facilitates information access in support of biblical/theological and educational studies at its main campus in KwaMhlanga (KwaM). It further provides information services via its branches at campuses/learning centres in Johannesburg (JHB), Pretoria (PTA), Durban (DBN) and Rustenburg (RTB).
Our Collection
The biggest part of our collection concerns various theological aspects. Generally, resources introduce users to various worldviews, expand their understanding of Greek & Hebrew, and inform them of the life stories about biblical & theological figures, be they Goliath, Calvin, Spurgeon or CS Lewis. The reference books stand thick of atlases, commentaries, concordances, dictionaries, encyclopaedias & study Bibles. Journals zoom in to further topical detail, while open access resources provide free access to digital resources on the Web. Via donations, the collection houses first editions of the 1800’s and earlier.
Services
Our users benefit from loan, reference and reservation services, while they can also use computers and printing facilities to get their assignments published.
User Guides
Updated annually, the RAWR Guide directs students in submitting academically sound assignments. Inside MTC Libraries looks into familiar library and information service activities, as they apply to the MTC environment. Note also a brief demonstration on searching the MTCLibraries Online Database, powered by KOHA.
